Welcome to the SAP BPC and HANA blog

Welcome to the SAP BPC and HANA blog On this site, I will publish the contents of my book on Implementing SAP BPC and HANA. It is a compr...

What additional tutorial topics would you like to see?

I want to lift this blog to a new level by publishing more tutorials and training content. The training will be aimed at guiding a learner to create powerful applications using the tools and technologies available in SAP.

I am exploring new topics, but since time and money is always a limiting factor, I have narrowed it down to three. The topics are things that I am interested in and have some experience in developing. Here they are, please let me know in the comments below what you would like to see (after BPC Embedded 11) is released:

SAP Blockchain Technology

SAP Analytics Cloud

SAP HANA Predictive Analytics

So pop me a note or comment and let e know what you would like to see. I really like reading feedback on what I have created and whether you have found it useful.

Marc S.

New lectures on InfoProviders

BPC Embedded InfoProviders

I am making good process with the new SAP BPC Embedded course. Two new lectures are 'in the can'. They contain the content for creating all the InfoProviders required to complete the planning application. I had to split the lecture into two, as it was getting too long. Both lectures can be accessed here:

and part II can be assessed here:

The Pain and Joy of Creating Courses

Creating courses can be a pain...

take a topic you know very well, or think you know very well. Put all your thoughts and ideas on a piece of paper. It turns out that knowledge of a topic does not mean that you can teach it. I found that out the hard way.

Creating courses takes a lot of time and some money. I have nailed down a process, but what works for me may not work for anyone else. For me, it is all about maximizing the output for any given input. In the case of video courses, the process that works for me means that for every 10 minutes of video takes about 4 hours to produce. That is; write the material, record the video, edit and clean up the audio, then combine the two again in editing, enhance the video and finally exporting it.

My process may take a little longer, but I spend a lot of time on the audio. I edit out all breathing and other little annoying noise that may distract from the content. That means that I record the audio and video separately. This opens up the editing options but comes at some added overhead when stitching the pieces together into a project.

...and I do all of this without even knowing if the course will sell.

If you would like to know more about my process, the software I use etc, let me know and I will create more posts on that.

Welcome to the SAP BPC and HANA blog

Welcome to the SAP BPC and HANA blog

On this site, I will publish the contents of my book on Implementing SAP BPC and HANA. It is a comprehensive guide on SAP BPC 11 and contains a lot of good content to get you underway.

As with anything in life, it costs a lot of money to produce this content, so please use the PayPal link to make a donation and help cover some of the costs. Alternatively, you can purchase a paperback version of the book on Amazon. The link to the book is on the left.

I will also publish interesting topics on HANA and Predictive Analytics (PAL), so make sure you subscribe and check the site from time to time.
